Duc in Altum ~ “Put out into the deep” ~ July 25/26-29
An (almost) week-long evangelical and catechetical encounter with a group of four, maturing disciples who have been “put out into the deep” of the Diocese of Rapid City this summer. A group will be coming to Custer (July 24/25-28) to engage those younger disciples of the Parish who are currently in school: those in high school or middle school (grades 6-12) will meet during the evening (Sun. – Thurs., 7:30 – 9:30pm); those in elementary school (grades 1-5) will meet during the day (Mon. – Thurs., 9am – 2:30pm). Registration forms are currently available at the parish church office. (We’re also ready for walk-up registrations.) Come and enjoy an energetic and fun time with each other and the Lord!

There will be two celebrations on Ash Wednesday (March 2): (1) at 7am with Fr. Gerlach presiding at Mass (see right) and (2) at 6pm with Dn. Pat Coy presiding at a communal celebration. The Blessing and Giving of Ashes will occur during both celebrations.
Lenten spirituality: Remember, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting and abstinence (select for more details), as part of our penitential observance of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

~ Western S.D. Catholic Foundation Fishing Day (May 21) for Seminarians ~
The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation (WSDCF) will host a day of fishing at Angostura Reservoir on Sat., May 21, 9am-5pm, benefiting our diocesan seminarians and their ongoing formation. You can register via the WSDCF site or simply arrive at the Sheps Canyon Recreation Area (28150 South Boat Ramp Road, Hot Springs) for day-of registration. (Note: there will be a fish fry meal at 5:30pm at a nearby residence [see map].)
