Formation in Discipleship

Formation in Discipleship (“FinD”)

Our parish recognizes the tremendous value of youth and adults. Formation in Discipleship (“FinD”) is our opportunity to assist each other the journey to lifelong faith formation. It’s designed to get Catholics of all ages to know their faith better and include it across all aspects of their lives.

The program curriculum covers various themes and topics within Sacred Scripture, Church teachings, and Catholic traditions. “FinD” Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of every month, September through May beginning with Liturgy at 5:15 p.m., our shared meal at 6:00 p.m., and formation time between 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Ministry to Young Disciples

Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. It provides a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge meets in the Edge Room in the basement of the Parish Center on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from September to May. Please contact the parish office for additional information to enroll or to volunteer as an adult team member.

Life Teen is a movement within the Roman Catholic Church that leads teenagers (grades 9-12) and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. This amazing, encounter-based group combines authentic and dynamic formation with faith sharing. Meetings are held in the basement of the Parish Center weekly on Wednesday evenings from September to May. To enroll or to volunteer as an adult team member, please contact Kathleen Lewis.

Preparation for Confirmation for those who will be in grades 5 and up begin in September for possible reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring.

Ministry to Adult Disciples

Music Ministry
For those who would like to participate in the Music Ministry or funeral choirs please call Jeannie Fischer for more information.

Cursillo
Cursillo is an apostolic movement of the Roman Catholic Church focusing on showing Christian lay people how to become effective Christian leaders over the course of a three-day weekend. The weekend includes 15 talks, some given by priests and some by lay people. These talks are called “rollos”. The major emphasis of the weekend is to ask participants to take what they have learned back into the world, or what is known as the “fourth day.” The method stresses personal spiritual development and a weekly group reunion (after the weekend).

For women who have made a Cursillo weekend, a weekly women’s meeting is held at a private residence on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. For more information, call Cathy Brickey.

For men who have made a Cursillo weekend, a weekly men’s meeting is held at the Parish Center on Thursday mornings at 7 a.m. For more information, call Jim Brickey.

If you are an adult and would like to learn more about the Cursillo movement, please contact Cathy or Jim Brickey.
